Yesterday was a long travel day (including an 8 hour layover in Nairobi thanks to a delayed flight). We arrived at our lodge in Arusha about 10:30pm.
We headed out for a full day outing in Arusha National Park after breakfast today. Although this outing was an extra, all 8 of our trip companions decided to do it. The park is only 220 square miles, but includes both grasslands and the foothills of Mount Mero, the 2nd highest peak in Africa. It was a good introduction to being on safari, and a chance to see some species we’ll not see on the rest of the trip.
